During my first trimester, I was so incredibly tired and nauseous that even making it to a class felt impossible. Moving my body in any way seemed out of reach- until I started using the Her. Women’s Health App.
Having access to short, 10-minute classes at home was a lifesaver. Those gentle movements helped me ease discomfort, maintain mobility, and feel connected to my body during a time that felt so foreign and exhausting- being short class on my phone I was able to access in the short windows that I felt I could manage some movement.
The light a the end of the tunnel
At 12 weeks, I began attending pregnancy-specific yoga and Pilates classes. These classes felt amazing. Every session was carefully designed to meet my changing body where it was;
- Stretching the areas that were tight and sore
- Strengthening my pelvis and core in a safe, modified way
- Creating space and mobility where my baby needed to grow
I could feel how intentional these classes were, and it made all the difference.
My Wednesday Night Village
Every Wednesday night, I looked forward to my pregnancy yoga class more than anything else. It became the highlight of my week- a little haven after long workdays, surrounded by other pregnant mamas who were going through the same changes.
We’d share what was new with our bodies that week: the weird, the wonderful, and the downright gross.
From reflux (my constant companion!) to mucus plugs, water loss, nipple changes, and even the occasional mama arriving in early labour– we talked about it all.
It was raw, funny, and endlessly fascinating. You could never predict what stories would come up in those classes.
Our Wednesday night community became so close that we even spent Valentine’s Day together.
We laughed, stretched, and supported one another through every milestone of pregnancy.
And the best part? The connection didn’t end there.
Just recently, we reunited for a wine and cheese night- with our babies, now one year old, crawling around our feet. The friendships that started in those yoga classes have carried through into motherhood. The community we built lives on, and always will.
After my birth, I felt a deep gap in my postnatal journey. The business that had been running the pregnancy and postnatal classes had closed, and suddenly, there was nowhere to go- no space to move, connect, or feel held by other women who understood.
That loss became the driving force behind opening HER. Studio.
I wanted every mama on the Sunshine Coast to have what I was lucky enough to experience-
- A community to move with and lean on
- A village to raise babies alongside
- A safe space to rebuild strength and confidence post-birth
- The unwavering love and understanding that can only come from fellow mamas walking the same path
HER. Studio was born from this journey- from those Wednesday night classes, the laughter, the tears, the friendships, and the transformation that comes from shared motherhood.
We’re here to help you nourish your pregnant and postnatal body, build your village, and grow together- through every season. Join our pregnancy and postnatal community on the Sunshine Coast.
